Hollywood & the Movies of WWII

Thursday, August 8 | 3:00 pm

Presented by Herb Kaufman, M.Ed.

The program, presented by historian Herb Kaufman, features the movies of the war years, 1940 through 1945. Immediately after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hollywood became a full participant in the war effort. Dozens of stars volunteered for military duty, while others created movies that encouraged patriotism, told the stories of the brave fighting men and women of the military and provided entertainment to raise millions of dollars for the war effort. This program looks at many of the notable, interesting and more remarkable films that capture different perspectives of World War II.
