Art Therapy Used to Break Down Barriers

At Homestead at Hamilton, art therapy is one of many methods incorporated into our Valeo™ signature programs, like Create and Compose, to support residents’ social, intellectual, spiritual and physical well-being. Create and Compose capitalizes on the therapeutic benefits that art and music offer. Latin for “to thrive,” Valeo focuses specifically on wellness initiatives for those with memory impairments and supports residents and their families in achieving successful aging goals.

On August 6th, memory care residents were joined by their families, staff and an art instructor, as well as other assisted living and independent living residents to take park in the creation of a mural on the first floor of the Valeo Neighborhood. The mural features Sayen Gardens, chosen because of its beautiful scenery and connection to Hamilton Township and the residents of Homestead.
